Soares engaged students in personal stories to not only make them aware of bullying but to take the opportunity to also shared tools and messages that they could use to stop it.  He emphasized that both words and actions are powerful, stressing that if you know bullying is happening and you just sit back and let it happen that you are just as guilty as the bully.

Soares ended his presentation with a question and answer forum that sparked conversations about how students can be leaders in the fight against bullying.  "When you have a chance to be kind, grab it. You can be the person to do something kind for others- Be Kind Always," shared Soares.

“Again this year, Wayne’s message was important for our students to hear - that each of us can make the choice to be kind to one another and to stand up to bullying,” said Chapin Street Principal, Nikki Reed, following the presentation.  “We are grateful to Ludlow CARES for sponsoring this event to bring Wayne back to Chapin to inspire and energize our kids to make those all important positive choices.”
