The Luck of the Irish was smiling on students in room 12 at Chapin Street School on March 6th when they were treated to some Irish folks songs, reels and jigs by local musicians Bill Eagen and Barney McElhone.  Not only did the dynamic duo sing some fun and inspiring Irish songs, but they also introduced students to a variety of instruments including the  mandolin, penny whistle, accordion, banjo and fiddle.

Students loved the music;  channelling the spirits of Leprechauns, as they spontaneously stood up, grabbed a partner and began to dance!  “It was a wonderful way to kick off Music in our Schools Month, but it also a perfect opportunity to celebrate St. Patrick's Day,”commented Mrs. Meghan Provost, Chapin Street music teacher. “We are very thankful to Mr. Eagen and Mr. McElhone for sharing their time and Irish talents with us.”
