You can find magic wherever you look, sit back and relax all you need is a book ” Dr. Seuss

On March 2nd schools across the nation celebrate the birthday of beloved children’s book author and Springfield, MA native, Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known to many simply as, Dr. Seuss.

According to Mr. Brian Bylicki, LHS Student Council Adviser, this was the 20th year that members of the LHS Student Council have celebrated the birthday of Dr. Suess by participating in the Read Across America  program that brings the celebration of reading and literacy into classrooms.

The LHS Student Council brought their reading extravaganza to both Chapin Street and East Street Schools.  This year a total of 28 LHS student council members - two dressed as The Cat in the Hat- journeyed to both schools and eagerly read one book, two books, red books and blue books to wide eyed students!

Mr. Thomas Welch, East Street Principal and Mrs. Nikki Reed, Chapin Street Principal are very appreciative of this ongoing partnership that highlights the importance of reading and wanted to especially thank Mr. Bylicki for coordinating  this wonderful opportunity for their students.

THANK YOU LHS Student Council!
