Ahoy Mateys! On Monday, September 19th students in Ms. Judi Humphries swashbuckling classroom arrived to school dressed like pirates; eager to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
Humphries explained that her students have been working hard this month, as good pirates do, on a variety of pirate-themed activities. Their pirate lessons spread across the curriculum. They explored their sense of adventure and discovery with several “shiver me timbers” reading and writing activities and used their map skills in search of hidden treasures.
“Me mateys are amazing,” commented Humphries. “Today was a fun way to celebrate all of their hard work since the start of school.”
